The best affiliate marketing programs for beginners are free or cheap to join, sell something you can explain, give you a tracked link quickly and do not demand a website on day one. Digital-product marketplaces (ClickBank, Digistore24, WarriorPlus, JVZoo), Amazon Associates for physical products and all-in-one options like OLSP are the usual starting points. Compare them in the table below, run the 15-minute checklist, then pick one.
This page is part of my affiliate marketing for beginners guide. I only state commission, cookie and joining details that I could read on the official page in September 2026. Where a page did not state a detail, I left it out.
What makes an affiliate program good for beginners?
Forget the biggest commission percentage for a moment. As a beginner, six things matter more:
- Cost to join. Free or a very small one-time fee. A monthly payment before you have earned anything needs a good reason.
- Approval. Some platforms give you a link straight away. Others make you request approval for each offer, and the vendor decides.
- A clear commission. You should be able to see what you earn per sale and when it is paid.
- Payout rules. Look for minimum thresholds, tax forms and identity checks. They are normal, but they should not surprise you after your first sale.
- Tracking window. How long after a click a purchase still counts for you. Longer is friendlier to a beginner with a small audience.
- A product you can explain. If you cannot say in two sentences who it helps and why, you will struggle to promote it honestly.
Programs, networks and marketplaces: what is the difference?
The words get mixed up, so here is a simple split:
- A single program belongs to one company. Amazon Associates is the best-known example. You join once and promote that company's products.
- An affiliate network hosts programs from many brands. Awin and impact.com work this way: you sign up to the network, then apply to individual brand programs.
- A digital-product marketplace lists offers from product creators. ClickBank, Digistore24, WarriorPlus and JVZoo are in this group. You browse offers, and on some you request approval from the vendor.
- Training plus a tracked link is a different model. OLSP teaches you the process and gives you a link and products to promote, all in one place.
I sell my own products through WarriorPlus and JVZoo, so I know these platforms from the vendor side too.
Best affiliate programs for beginners (as of September 2026)
The table shows only what each official page states. "Set per offer" means the platform lets each vendor or brand decide, so there is no single number.

Sources: the official pages linked in each entry below. Terms change, so re-check before you sign up.
Amazon Associates
Amazon is the classic first program because everyone knows the product. The official page says you can earn "up to 10% in associate commissions from qualifying purchases", and the commission schedule sets a fixed rate per product category. For example, it lists 3% for toys and furniture, 4.5% for physical books and 10% for luxury beauty. Under the participation rules, a session lasts until 24 hours pass from the click, the customer orders, or they click another Amazon affiliate link. The Associates page says commission income is paid roughly 60 days after the end of the month in which it was earned. Requirement to remember: a qualifying website or mobile app with original content. (as of September 2026)
ClickBank
ClickBank is a digital-product marketplace. Its affiliate page says you sign up for a free account, and that offers pay either a revenue share or a fixed CPA amount, with a potential commission of up to 90%. Its getting-started guide adds that affiliates who earn over $600 must supply a taxpayer identification number that matches the payee name. (as of September 2026)
Digistore24
The Digistore24 affiliate page describes the platform as "always free for affiliates", with commissions of "up to 100%" (CPA and revenue share), a "180-day cookie window" and payouts "up to 3 times per week". (as of September 2026)
WarriorPlus
WarriorPlus is where many internet-marketing products launch. Its affiliate help page explains that you request approval for specific products and that you must fill in a tax form before you can withdraw funds. The approval article says most requests are processed within a few business days, but the vendor decides, and some wait until a launch period ends. (as of September 2026)
JVZoo
JVZoo is a similar marketplace. Its affiliate page says it is free to join with no monthly fees or subscriptions, with a one-time $5 KYC verification to unlock payouts, and that you can request approval from vendors for specific offers and filter offers by EPC, commission rate and niche. (as of September 2026)
Awin, ShareASale and impact.com
Awin says it has owned ShareASale since 2017 and that new customers now launch directly with Awin. It describes a sign-up "guided by our friendly wizard". The Awin page does not state joining fees, so check the wizard for current terms. impact.com describes a marketplace where you can "monetize your content by partnering directly with brands"; its partner page does not state fees or payment terms. Both suit you better once you have some content to show a brand. (as of September 2026)
Best affiliate programs for beginners without a website
Amazon is the clearest example in this list of a program that asks for a qualifying site or app. The marketplace pages I read (ClickBank, Digistore24, WarriorPlus and JVZoo) describe sign-up and offer approval, and none of them states a website requirement. That makes them the natural choice if you have no site yet. Vendors set their own promotion rules, so read them before you send traffic.
Without a website you need somewhere to send people: usually an opt-in page connected to an email list, plus short video, a niche social account or communities where sharing is allowed.
The full walk-through is in how to start affiliate marketing without a website. Starting with a tight budget? Read how to start affiliate marketing with no money.
Free-to-join vs paid-to-join programs
Most platforms in the table let you create an account without paying, but "free" has edges. Two examples from the official pages: JVZoo mentions a one-time $5 verification to unlock payouts, and ClickBank asks for a taxpayer ID once you earn over $600. Neither is a scandal, but you want to know both before your first sale.
Some programs require you to buy the product or a membership before you can promote it. That is fine if you would use the product anyway, and a bad idea if the only reason is the promise that recruiting others will pay you back. As a rule: start free or under $10, and pay more only for something you have already used.
Recurring vs one-time commissions
A one-time commission pays once per sale. A recurring one pays again each billing period while the customer stays. ClickBank, for example, lists "rebills" as a way to generate recurring revenue. Recurring income builds slowly, so treat it as a second layer. For a first program, one-time commissions are easier to test, because you see a click, a sign-up and a sale. Higher-priced offers are a different game, covered in high-ticket affiliate marketing for beginners.
How to pick your first affiliate program in 15 minutes
Open the program page and tick these off. If you cannot answer three or more, choose a different program.
- Who is it for? Write one sentence about the buyer and the problem it solves.
- What does joining cost? Include verification fees, tools and any required purchase.
- How do I get approved? Instant link, or a request the vendor must accept?
- What do I earn per sale, and when is it paid? Find the commission, the payout schedule and any minimum.
- How long does my click count? Look for the tracking window or cookie length.
- What happens on refunds? Read the refund terms. Commissions are usually reversed on refunded sales.
- Can I promote it my way? Check the promotion rules against your channel, with or without a website.
Then set up basic link tracking and follow the beginner funnel: content, opt-in page, email follow-up.
Red flags to avoid
- Income promises. No legitimate program can guarantee what you will earn.
- Paying to recruit. If the money comes mainly from signing up other people rather than selling a real product, walk away.
- No product you can see. You should be able to read the sales page, the delivery and the refund terms.
- Vague payout rules. If you cannot find when and how you are paid, ask before you promote.
Whatever you choose, disclose your affiliate links. The FTC's disclosure guidance says to disclose "any financial, employment, personal, or family relationship with a brand" and to place the disclosure with the endorsement itself. More on this in is affiliate marketing legit? and beginner mistakes.
Where OLSP fits among beginner affiliate programs
I'm an OLSP affiliate and earn a commission if you join through my links. OLSP is Wayne Crowe's affiliate training platform. It is a different model from the marketplaces above: instead of browsing thousands of offers, you get one guided route, and it is one practical option, not the only one.
- Free entry: a free OLSP Academy account with the 10-Minute Commission Challenge, a short step-by-step beginner course. It asks for name, email and password, no credit card.
- Paid entry: the Mega Link is a one-time $7.
- Products and training: a done-for-you digital product library (products from $7 to $97), live training sessions with Wayne Crowe and a community.
- Commissions: 100% on front-end sales as a Mega Link owner, and 200% across two levels as a Community Builder, a higher membership tier. Recruiting is not required to earn front-end commissions. See the commission structure.
- Guarantee: the "Show Me It Works" 30-day guarantee applies if you join, watch the orientation, share your link and attend a live session. The refund policy mentions possible deductions.
Who it suits: beginners who want training, products and a tracked link in one place. Who it does not: people who want to promote physical products, a specific brand niche or a wide catalog of offers. In that case Amazon or a marketplace is the better match. For the trust questions, read is OLSP legit? and see how it works for affiliates on OLSP affiliate marketing.
My own OLSP affiliate dashboard shows $1,661.45 in lifetime earnings as of September 30, 2026, which you can see on the home page. It is my individual result, not a typical one.
Results vary and are not typical. Earnings depend on your effort, consistency, traffic and the offers you promote, and no income is guaranteed.
